Every time we make burgers at home, I get excited like a kid going to Disneyland! Burgers are my favorite fast food meal and as such, it is definitely not something we include in our menu regularly. But when we do it’s always with some extremely delicious burger that disappears off the plate in a matter of minutes. I’m sharing with you my recipe for a Sloppy Joe burger that will literally make you drool 😉 Juicy and delicious!
After discovering my love for a well-made cheeseburger, I started looking for other similar recipes that I might like. Recently I discovered the Sloppy Joe burger, which at first glance looks very simple, but is full of flavor… AND it gives you the utter pleasure of eating with your hands and getting messy without giving a f*ck! 😉
It is not really clear who made this burger for the first time, but one of the most popular versions that I tend to believe is that it comes from the so-called “loose meat” sandwich, popular in Iowa, USA. It is a sandwich made with fried minced meat and onions. In the 1930s, a chef named Joe decided to experiment and added tomato sauce to the minced meat. He called this burger a Sloppy Joe.
This might not be the burger you’d order on a first date… since the Sloppy Joe is a dish that is eaten with both hands and obliges you to remain completely calm when things get messy 😉
